Almost three million crimes occur on or near school campuses every year—one crime every six seconds. What was once considered a problem in only inner-city schools has now spread to even the most rural communities. How should students react if they are threatened on the way to school, or if they are coerced into potentially dangerous situations by their peers? What can young adults do to protect themselves? This program provides students with specific skills they can apply if confronted with violence. Interviews with students, parents, and teachers at urban, suburban, and rural schools provide a firsthand look at the situation from the perspectives of people who cope with school violence on a day-to-day basis.

A Cambridge Educational Production.
