The Earth is surrounded and permeated by gases. This program, a Science Screen Report, looks at the composition, properties, and applications of fuels and gases. Through experiments and real-world examples, it illustrates how the uses of different gases relate to their weight, combustibility, and degree to which they can be compressed or liquefied. The video also discusses how fossil fuels and gases such as methane and hydrogen are applied to heating, cooking, and vehicular travel. A viewable/printable instructor’s guide is available online. Correlates to National Science Education Standards. Produced in association with the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology and the Junior Engineering Technical Society.
