The groups most at risk of being infected with the AIDS virus are gay men and intravenous drug abusers. Nonetheless, every sexually active person faces the risk of developing AIDS—the degree of risk varies according to geographic area and the kind of sexual behavior practiced. This program enables viewers to gauge their risk levels and provides perspective by comparing the chances of developing AIDS with the likelihood of dying from other hazardous or potentially hazardous activities. Medical experts make it clear that, with the exception of those involved in long-term monogamous relationships, all sexually active persons need to protect themselves against the AIDS virus.
