An interesting format and a personable teen host make this program a great one for teaching the basics of responsibility to young people. Katie, the show’s host, tells the viewer her own story of being irresponsible—little things like making her friends wait for her while she gets ready for school or not taking the garbage out, even though her mother asks her 23 times. She also shares her experience with being irresponsible in a bigger way—not wearing adequate protection while rollerblading—and the disastrous effect it had on her life. The broken leg Katie gets from her rollerblading accident keeps her laid up for quite a while and gives her a lot of time to think. With help from her friends (and a cool nurse at the hospital), Katie creates a formula for improving responsibility—Thought (T2) multiplied by Actions (A), divided by Time (t) equals Results (R). Katie’s accident and this formula get her onto a responsible track, to the delight of her friends, her parents, and herself. (20 min.) A Meridian Production.
