A tour of the British Museum’s extraordinary collections in the Department of Prints and Drawings is offered by the curator and by Michael Ayrton. From the end of the Middle Ages to the present, from Raphael to William Blake to Van Gogh to Degas, we examine the treasures stacked inside the myriad boxes; from Michelangelo to Rembrandt to Dürer, we see how the artist constructs three-dimensional shapes out of flat lines.
