The concept of using angles on the x-axis of a Cartesian plane is developed with the use of both degrees and radians. The equation y = sin x is introduced, and several points are calculated and plotted on the plane to give a graph of the sine curve. The shape of the curve is related to the rotation of an angle’s terminal arm around the unit circle. (10 minutes)
