As a result of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, a great variety of standards are being applied that go far beyond those traditionally associated with the term "human rights." This program offers examples of these forward-thinking standards in action, including their application to environmental degradation in Cameroon; health concerns around Chernobyl, in Ukraine; and the demands of indigenous communities in Central Australia and Medellin, Colombia, that their age-old ways of life be respected.
